A message from Ed Clements:
As a young man, my mother and father instilled in me the belief that every person deserves a voice.
Very early in life, I witnessed firsthand the obstacles faced by my brother, who has a disability. But I also saw my mother become an advocate for her son during the mid-sixties, a time when people with disabilities were often shunned by society and institutionalized. Realizing that other individuals and families also struggled to find resources and needed support, she founded an organization in Brownwood that would help to ensure her son and countless others were given opportunity, support, and compassion. My mother fought to give them the voice they deserved.
Today, I still believe it is my responsibility to speak up for those who often go unheard. I lend my voice by supporting and advocating for The Arc of the Capital Area, a nonprofit that serves thousands of Central Texans with disabilities and their families through compassionate case management and innovative programs. The Arc of the Capital Area envisions a future where individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities can pursue full and productive lives, and their families have the support and services they need to not only advocate for but to empower their children.
Please join me in supporting this important organization by sponsoring Swinging Fore The Arc with Ed Clements. Your participation and financial support helps The Arc of the Capital Area provide essential services and programs such as:
Together, we can make a better future happen. On behalf of my parents and my brother, I thank you for your generosity. I look forward to seeing you out on the course for a day of great golf and a great time, for a cause near and dear to my heart.
